Holiday Series- "What's in my Holiday Make Up Bag?"

Hi Guys,

Today's post is something a bit different, as rather than being fashion focused, this post is all about the beauty/make up items I took away with me on holiday. Being the very noisy person I am I love having a look through my friends make up bags and seeing what products and must haves they rely on, so I thought it would be fun to share with you my beauty essentials when I am in the sun!
I love getting glammed up when I am away on holiday, everyone always looks better with a tan and it is always fun mixing up your make up each night you are away, but that does not mean you need to take lots of  products! I have a rule that I try and not take more than 2 of each product, i.e. 2 lip sticks, 2 eye shadow pallets etc and it always seems to be enough, as if you pick correctly from your collection you will have just the right amount to last the whole trip.
But for me the main make up look I go for on holiday is bronzed, dewy and quite natural, with a odd pop of colour on the lips or eyes when I want to spice it up.

Base/Face Products

Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint ( Beige 02)
When it comes to face products I am very much a creature of habit, having suffered from Acne when I was younger and have been left with scarring and pigmentation, I really have to search long and hard to find products that work for me and then when I find then I stick with them. I discovered this skin tint last Summer and it is by far the best tinted moisturiser/bb cream I have tried, (I most point out I do also love Jouer's Matt Tinted Moisturiser too) The coverage with this Liz Earle beauty is great as it hides all the areas you need it too, but it is not heavy at all and you never feel cakey with it on, which is what you want on holiday, a product that will still let your tan and summer glow shine through. It is the perfect Summer base product for me.

Benefits Porefesional Primer
Primer is is must all year round for me, as I have naturally oily skin, but on holiday it is even more important. I love using this primer because if the reduction in my visable pores and the silky smooth way it leaves your face after applying it and when you are out on a hot evening your make up does not budge.

Rimmel Natural Bronzer (Sun Glow 025)
The reason I take this bronzer away on holiday with me and not my everyday Nars Laguna, is because it has more of a highlighting quality to it's finish, so it almost gives a shimmer to the skin which looks great with a tan. It is also great to build up colour with, so if you want to contour the whole face and neckline and then create more colour in the cheeks it is perfect for that. Rimmel are always great for there summer glow collections ans you can take it out with you when you are away and not worry if it gets lost as it is nice and cheap.

Sleek Blush (Flamingo)
I love this blusher, it has been my go to blush all spring. I have spoke about it before, but I love how it is such a bold statement colour in the pan, but when you apply it is quite subtle and just gives a gorgeous pink flush to the cheeks which looks great over the top of the bronzer.

Eyes

Sleek i Divine Pallet (Storm)
This eye pallet is amazing, the choice of colours, the pigmentation and finish are all fab. I always take this away with me because it has such great shimmer colours that  love wearing when I have a tan, plus it covers, browns, blues, pinks and even a dark smoky looks so you really don't need anything else. Rather than packing my Naked or larger Mac pallets, this saves on space and looks great.

Mac Paint Pot (Vintage Selection)
This is the perfect all over eye base and face highlighter. It is a gorgeous shimmery nude/bronze colour that I have literally worn on my eyes every day for the past month. It blends well with other colours or looks great on it's own, it is my all time favourite paint pot (for now)

Soap and Glory Super Cat Eyeliner
This is a fail safe eyeliner, it looks great on the upper lid and is the easiest one I have found for creating a cat eye flick and it does not move in the heat!

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Volume and Curl
I can not start to talk about how much I love the 2000 calorie mascara, Myself, my Sister and Mum all use it and swear by it. Nuff said.

Lips

Mac Lip Stick (Creme D' Nude)
When I go on holiday I love wearing nude cream based colours, I love the way they sit against a tan and it just finishes off the bronzed sun kissed look. This Mac lip stick glides on and as it is a cream sheen finish it gives a glossy effort too. Love it!

Revlon Lip Butter (Candy Apple)
Just as I love nude colours on holiday, some nights I love a pop of colour and my absolute fav lip stick this Summer for that has to be this Revlon Lip Butter. It is a really bright vibrant red, with the moisturising effect you get from a lip butter.

NYX Megs Shine Lip Gloss (Sugar Pie)
And finally for those days/nights you don't want to wear any lip colour, this NYX gloss is perfect as it gives a natural shine, with just a slight sparkle. If you have not tried any of the NYX products, you need too they are fab!

Nails

Essie Polishes
Again like my lips I always like to take one nude/light and one bright nail polish. Essie have been my go to colours this Summer and I love love love Too too hot, it is perfect summer bright and I wore this on my toes for the whole holiday too!

Well, I hope you have liked this insight into my Summer beauty favourites, and a non fashion related post.
I hope you have all had a lovely weekend? I will have some new outfit posts coming up this week and some new video's on my You Tube Channel so I hope you can check them out.
I am off now to head out for a Sunday Roast- Yummy!

Happy Sunday!

Holiday Series- The Barcelona Post!

Hi Guys,

Today's post is my personal favourite from my holiday series, as it is an ode to one of my favourite cities- Barcelona. For those of you who have followed my blog for a while, you will know that this is becoming a bit of an annual post, I go to Barcelona every year if I can and I always like to share with you some of my photo's and experiences. And off course what I wore!

Boob Tube- Cos, Skirt- H&M
Necklace- Next, Bag- H&M, Sandals- Newlook
Sunglasses- ASOS, Nails- Essie Too too Hot

I knew it was going to be a boiling hot day, so I decided to go for a look that I would not over heat in, plus still bringing a bit of style to the table (hopefully) I have been in love with lace/crochet skirts and dresses all spring, and I bought this H&M skirt months ago, but have hardly had any chance to wear it because our summer has been non existent. So, I knew that I wanted to wear it to Barcelona, I love how classy and elegant it looks, but is still really comfortable to be in all day.
To make the most of the sun and try and top up the tan I decided to team the skirt with just a classic black boob tube, so I did not have to worry about strap marks while I was wandering and I liked the black and white combo, as I have been all season.
All in all I was really pleased with the look, there was nothing radical or inventive about it, but sometimes classics are the best don't you think?

I hope you like my look, but now down to the important part.... Barcelona!
The most amazing food market ever!

The Marina!

As I mentioned, I have been to Barcelona numerous times, on holiday's and when I went travelling round Europe when I was 18 for 6 months, so I have seen all the "touristy" highlights plenty of times, and believe me they are amazing, if you have never seen any of Gaudi's work I can not recommend it enough. However, now when I go, I just like to wander round my favourite areas like La Ramblas, the Gothic Quarter and down the Harbour and Marina and take in the sights, stop for a coffee, then wander on and stop for some lunch and people watch.
This year we ate in a beautiful restaurant in the Placa Reial and just took it all in at leisure, and I do think that spending time like this in a place is the best way to really experience it, as sometimes when you are on the tourist trail you miss the little streets and shops that really make up the city's charm.
We had a wonderful time and I am already planning my next trip!

And just one of my uber stylish Parents!

Well, apologises for all the photo's it is just too hard to not snap everything you see, but I hope you have liked seeing them, and I would love to know if you love Barcelona too?
I hope you have all had a nice weekend, and are ready to start another week?
I will be posting my "What's in my Holiday Make Up bag" video/Post this week too, so be sure to check that out.

Happy Monday!

Holiday Series 3- Outfit Beyonce for H&M!

Hi Guys,

Today's post is a 2nd outfit from my holiday, and by far one of the comfiest ensembles I have ever put together!
As you can see another crop top has snuck it's way on here, I swear I do wear other things other than them. I just have really liked the way they look sat with high waisted trousers and skirts, it breaks up the look, plus on holiday it adds a bit of much needed coolness!

Crop Top- Topshop, Trousers H&M (Beyonce Collection)
Flatforms- Primark, Necklace-Miss Selfridges

The main hero of this look is my beach trousers from the Beyonce collection for H&M. These pj style trousers are perfect for summer nights out as they are not thick and feel really light any airy when you wear them.
To be honest they are day beach cover up trousers that you can slip on and off at the pool, but I loved them so much I thought I would have a go at styling them up for a night out, and I was really pleased with the results. I was a big fan of the whole Beyonce collection, the prints and colours were gorgeous and bought a bikini too, which was fab, but the trousers are my fav for sure and I know I will be able to get wear out of them back home too with neon jumpers and denim shirts.

They do show off my curves/Jlo bum as they are looser on the bottom half, which is another reason I like to wear the crop top with them to show of the waist for some balance. Mine are only a size small (I know they don't look it) so XS might be best if you are petite.

I hope you like the look and I would love to you if you have styled a similar look or loved the Beyonce collection too?

I hope you all have nice weekends planned? I am trying to chill out after a very hectic and busy week, writing posts, filming a new video, getting out for a run and maybe a few glasses of blush on the way!

Happy Saturday!

Holiday Series Part 2- Outfit- Peaches and Cream/Black Lace!

Hi Guys,

Well, as you will have realised, I am back from Spain (I had a amazing time) and am currently in the middle of my post holiday blues! I never enjoy coming back from a trip aboard, as I love seeing new places/cultures and visiting old favourites, like Barcelona but mostly I just love the sun.
I know it is good to get back to a routine when you get back, but it always seems to take me a good week to fully bet back into non holiday mode. Is this just me?

Today's post is the first of my Holiday outfits that I wanted to share with you.

And now a few shots of Callea (our little Spainish Town)

Top-Topshop, Shorts-Huk (retailer in Manchester)
Necklace-Primark,Flatforms- Primark

As you will know from my last post I always plan my outfits before I go and so I always have a couple that are personal favourites and this was one of them.
I loved the mix of colours with the peach and monochrome, they sit well with a tan and I am loving the crop top trend too, so putting this look together was quite easy.
Topshop have been my go to place for crop tops, I have another 3 which I took away with me, the quality is really good and they have a bit of movement to them so you don't have to stuck in all the time!

I think this was a really good holiday look, I would never really wear this at home which was another reason to wear it in the sun. Teaming the crop top with shorts is a good way to not make it too dressy but still evening appropriate.

I hope you like the look and I hope you have had a nice week? Now I am back I will be coming thick and fast with the rest of my Holiday series posts, including my holiday Make Up and Beauty essentials and my Barcelona post, which you will have to look out for.

Happy Wednesday!

Holiday Series Part 1- Outfits and Packing Tips!

Hi Guys,

Today's post is something a bit different, as I am going on holiday to Barcelona tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to one go through with you what outfits I am taking with me on my holiday and two share with you my packing tips and tricks that I have learnt over the years after making possibly every packing mistake you can make!

This will be the first post in my holiday series, as I will also be doing a "What's in my Travel Make Up bag" post, plus outfit posts from my time away too. I thought it was time I mixed it up here and I am really nosey by nature and I love seeing/reading things like this so thought you would like to see it too!

Here is the Video, for you explaining each look, plus talking you through my outfit building packing system that I always stick to now- I hope you like it!

Outfit building is for me the best way to stay organised when I am packing, as it stops me over filling my case with things I just don't need and will not wear.

Here are just a few photo's of my looks too...

Top- Topshop, Shorts- Huk (Manchester based Shop)
Necklace- Primark, Bag- Newlook

Vest- H&M, Midi Skirt- Primark
Necklace- Newlook, Earrings- Accessorize

Top- Topshop, Trousers- H&M Beyonce Swimwear Range
Necklace- Miss Selfridges, Clutch- Primark

You will see as I mention in the video, I never take anything to expensive with me on holiday, as you don't want to risk losing/ damaging anything so I always buy from the high street for my jollies and it suits me fine.

Well, I hope you have found this post interesting and it might help you when you are going away, and liked the different style post?

I can't believe I am going tomorrow, I still feel I like I have lots to do, so I better get off and finish! I will be Tweeting and Instagraming while I away to you too, so you will have to check it out, and have a great week!

Happy Monday!

Nautical and Neons

Hi Guys,

The star of today's show is my gorgeous striped loose fit jumper from Get the Label it is the perfect summer knitwear piece  and I love the classic style.

Jumper- c/o Get the Label, Trousers New Look, Bag- Viva La Diva
Flatforms- Primark, Necklace- New Look

Stripes are never out of fashion, they are wardrobe staples like denim, so you can never have enough of them. When Get the Label kindly asked me to pick an item from their Summer collection I was instantly drawn to this jumper. I love the loose fit and the open knit, so it is not too heavy and can be worn even on hot days without getting too warm.

I wanted to style it in quite a classic way, so enter my new white jeans. I have wanted a pair of white jeans for a while, but have just not seen the right ones, I did not want a loose fit, but at the same time did not want jeggings, so these are a happy medium. I really liked the effect of the stripes and the stark white, but I just could not help myself and added a pop of neon as I so often do these days.
It was also a chance to wear in me flatforms, which I bought for my holiday and so far, I am loving them!

As you will have noticed I have had over a week of the blog, I can not think of the last time that happened, but to be honest, there has been so much going on at work during the week and then I went up to Scotland to visit my family at the weekend, so I have literally not had a minute. But it feels great to be back, and getting back into it.
I filmed my May Favourites for my You Tube Channel yesterday, if you fancy checking out my fashion and beauty picks for the last month. I will also be posting a Holiday series of blog posts and videos for my holiday to Barcelona next week. I will be posting a "What's in my Make up Bag" video and going through my packing tips and outfit choices, so you will have to be sure to check them out.

I am soo exicted to get away next week, it has felt like a long time since my last break, but I have so much to do before I can think about it, I am heading to London on Friday for a very exciting day of filming, then going to my Friends 30th Birthday weekender, so need to be organised with my packing!

I hope you like the look, and you are enjoying the sun.

Happy Wednesday!
