Chunky Knits- High Street Edit!

Hi Guys!

Well, I hate to go one about the weather soo much, but this week I feel we have moved over to the Winter months, it has been freezing, and rainy!
However, I have decided that unless I emigrate to sunnier skies, I am just going to have to embrace it and one way to get me on board is through Chunky Knitwear- I love it!
So this is post is dedicated to my top wolly picks from the High Street to keep us all warm and snug in the coming months! (While looking equally stylish)

Top Shop

  £69.99
(Needs no intro it is one of the JW Anderson Jumpers- There is also a Bat design, that Alexia Chung is loving too!)

  £38.00

             £42.00

River Island

 £38

    £40

    £35

Miss Selfridge

        £39

                    £39

           £39

I hope you like my picks and are as excited as me to start wearing them. I know I keep harping on about the cold weather, but I do love a nice crisp dry day that is cold but bright, they are the perfect days for all of the above!

Can't believe it is Wednesday already, it has been a hectic week as we are handing the keys over from our old flat tomorrow, so have been doing the big clean up for the past couple of nights, but hopefully come the weekend, things will have calmed down.
I have nearly less than a week to go till the Cosmo Blog Awards and I still do not have an outfit!! So I may need your help next week to decide.#costumedrama
Hope you are having a good week and are not too flooded where you are. And If you are out and about in any of the major UK Cities this week keep your eyes peeled for the Grazia Style Hunter team, who are snapping away at all the fashionista's they find! More post very soon, stay tuned!

Happy Midweek!

Emmy's Red Carpet- Best Dressed!

Hi Guys!

How depressing is this weather this morning?(The UK is under a big cloud today) It feels like the darkest rainiest day of the year, so I decided to brighten up the day with some fabulous fashion ( the one thing that never fails to not out me in a good mood) and today it comes in the form of the Emmy's Red carpet!
It is the Oscars for the TV world and so the ladies go out of there way to hit big in the style stakes, and in complete contrast to the grey and damp day the big colour trend of the night was brights!
Here are my top picks...

Best Dressed- Claire Danes in Lanvin
I literally love this dress, it is perfect for Claire's quite boyish figure, and perfect for covering her baby bump! The draping at the waist creates curves and the silky material gives it a real elegance. Not many people can pull of this colour, but it looks fab on Claire.

   Julie Bowden in Monique Lhuillier
Another amazing bright coloured dress, that looks amazing! The cut of the dress is beautiful as it stays tight right down to the knee, before kicking out which is very flattering to Julie's shape.

    Julianne Moore in Dior Couture
I think this is the best Julianne has looked in years. She has in the past played it safe in darker muted colours like green and deep purple, so come out with this it has the real wow factor.

These bright ladies really stole the show for me, but there were some other fab frocks, here are the rest of my favs!

    Jessica Pare in Jason Wu

 Zooey Deschanel in Reem Arca

Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen

January Jones in Zac Posen

Hayden Panettiere in Marchesa

Julia Louis Dreyfus in Vera Wang

And, I am sorry there always has to be a worst dressed, and for me this Crime of Fashion goes too

Ashley Judd in Carolina Herrera
Sorry, Ashley, but I don't really know where to start. The dress is too short, it does not fit right, the shape is not flattering and the big hair does not compliment Ashley's normally beautiful face.

I hope you like my picks, what was your dress of the night?

Hope your Monday is going ok and has been perked up by this little fashion fix! Stay tuned for more posts and reviews from me this week.

Happy(rainy) Monday!

Studs and Cable Knits!

Jacket- Huk (Independent store in Manchester)
Jumper- Simply Be, Jeans- Topshop, Boots Viva La Diva
Bag- Primark, Necklace- Newlook, Hat H&M
Nails Barry M Gelly Paints (Watermelon)

Hi Guys!

This is today's casual Friday look and another outing of my leather sleeved parka jacket. The temperature has really dropped this week and it is officially Autumn. So I decided it was time to start introducing my chunky knits back into my wardrobe.

Cable Knit jumpers are perfect for cold days when you just want to feel cosy, there are lots of versions out in the high street this season in lots of different colours and wools. They will look great with jeans, pencil skirts, cropped trousers, everything, River Island has got a great selection.
My favourite piece of the look is the studded bag, it was an absolute steal from Primark. I am loving wearing it at the moment to give an edge to an outfit and it I think it works well against the relaxed look.
I am also wearing again the Barry M Gelly nail paints, which I will be doing a review on very soon, and have a really amazing hi shine finish.

Are you all happy it is the weekend? My family are coming down tomorrow to visit so I am really looking forward to that, I am also going to be writing up my picks of Milan Fashion week, which so far has been amazing. The Versus Show tonight with Beth Ditto was more like a concert!

I hope you like my look and I would love to know what knitwear you have been eyeing up for this winter too!

Happy Weekend!

Parka, Blazer and Jumper- Wednesday commute!

                       Jacket- Huk(A Independent Manchester Store)
Wet look Leggings- Boohoo, Blazer- New Look
Jumper- Topshop, Boots- Viva La Diva
                   Bag- Mango, Ring Topshop

Hi Guys!

I hope you are all having a good week so far? Mine has been busy busy with meetings (on some exciting projects that I will be telling you about soon!) I am also still trying to get my new house all sorted out and how I want it, it is always hard when you move to get things organised but I am trying- honest!

So, due to all this talk about the move, I decided to take my outfit post pictures today at the Tram stop, as this is another new part of my life, the commute! For the past 3 years I have lived right in the center of Manchester and I have now moved to the "burbs" of Chorlton and so am getting the Tram in to work everyday.

As you will see I am wearing my leather sleeved parka jacket, that has now taken over the high street! I got mine back in August and it was not too bad, but now every 3rd 4th girl you pass has got a version on, which is a little annoying, but I don't know why I am complaining, that's fashion for you! What do you think?
I really love this Topshop jumper too, it is perfect for those snug days when you are feeling the cold, while still wanting to have style and it works really well with the burgundy blazer.Topshop always have a great selection of knitwear in the winter, if you have not checked it out yet, you should!
I also needed lots of files and papers in my bag today, hence my massive Mango shopper!
I am wearing on my nails my new Barry M Gelly nail polish that I LOVE, but will be doing a full post on very soon, as the colours and shine I am sure you will adore.

Well, we have broke the back of the week, and as London Fashion Week finishes Milan starts! I am trying to catch as much live streaming as I can, I saw Gucci earlier today and it was stunning!
I am hoping all the madness will calm down over the next week and I can get back to the blog everyday, so apologies for a absence recently, with the move and fashion weeks etc it has just been a bit manic. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Happy Wednesday!

London Fashion Week- Runway Reports!

Hi Guys!

I am sure like me you are absolutely loving London Fashion Week so far? I have literally been blown away with some of the pieces, and really feel like some of the UK's newest designers have propelled themselves forward with some beautiful collections.
Mary Katranzou and Peter Pilotto trademark prints have developed once more and have created stand out pieces that push the bounds of digital graphic. PPQ produced stunning sixties inspired dress, kaftan's and separates and Michael Van Ham brought a new sophistication to his signature style.
They have been so many it is hard to take it all in, but for me the 3 shows so far that have really captivated not only myself but the whole of the fashion community are Burberry Prorsum, Jonathan Saunders and Christopher Kane. Twitter, Facebook and instagram went into melt down when these designs hit the catwalk, and with good cause, these collections were bold, daring and detailed and have have us set for a fashiontastic SS13!

 Burberry Prorsum
There was so much hype surrounding this collection, after the snow storm back in February, no one knew what to expect from this SS13 show. It was also one of the most interactive shows, live streaming in the Burberry store and online, which is fantastic for fashion, it makes it accessible to all and fuels the social media  buzz.
This collection was still holding on to the trademarks of trenches and fitted waists, which is so wearable for so many body shapes, however there was also new designs, silhouette's and amazing metallics! Christopher Bailey has nailed it once more.

                                                           Jonathan Saunders
This was such a fun collection from Jonathan Saunders, I loved the sequins, sparkle and brights that hit the catwalk. The metallic pencil skirt I literally adore, it was the stand out item for me, but to be honest I fell in love with all of it. It was a lot less formal that previous outings from Saunders and a real fresh change. We will all want these round glasses next summer.

                                                         Christopher Kane
It was all nuts and bolts for this collection from Christopher Kane, in the detailing and shoes! Combined with gorgeous pastel pinks, yellows and quilted white jackets. I also loved the use of bows and ruffles on the shoulders, waists and hips, the overall effect was effortless and perfect for spring.

I hope you all have had nice weekends? It just feels a bit manic at the moment for me, but in a good way. London fashion has been amazing and I am already excited for Paris and Milan! And I had a fantastic time at my friend Amy's birthday on Saturday night, it was a great night, but I am still feeling the effects today! (too many glasses of fizz!)Oh well, it was for a worthy cause.

I hope you all have fab weeks, I have lots of posts coming up over the next few days, some new outfit posts and my Topshop Unique and JW Anderson reviews, so stay tuned!

Happy Monday!

New York Fashion Week- The Report!

Hi Fashionista's!

I am back! I know has been less than a week, but to me it has felt like an age! I am now all moved into my new House and I love it, but the Internet and phone etc did not get fitted until today so I have been itching to get going on the blog again.
I will be doing a full post on my new room and accessory and clothes storage, but that won't be for a few weeks till I have it just the way I want ( I am very picky) but it is really nice to have lots more space and has given me new storage ideas which is good.

However even with my lack of Internet, I made sure I could keep up on all the fashion events, Vogue's Big Night Out, which I was gutted I had to miss and off course New York Fashion Week! They both were a huge success and I have been loving seeing all the pictures hearing all the backstage gossip, like the cat fight that broke out at Zac Posen over the waiting time for seats- how fashion is that!!

So this post is my top picks of New York Fashion Week, it was hard to chose, as there were so many, but one thing was clear, SS13 is going to be very different from SS12, and it's very exciting!

Jenny Packham

Jenny Packman is know for her stunning and often over the top designs and this SS13 collection was the same. It was full Hollywood glamour with sequins and sparkle placed on stunning fabrics, although in the middle of all the glamour, I loved the playful spotted dress that was the highlight for me.

Victoria Beckham

This new collection was a triumph for Mrs Beckham. It was a move away from the signature dresses that she has made her own since her early designs and a introduction to separates and tailoring. However she still was able to bring a more relaxed feel to the pieces with a lighter material and some stunning pleats. A really wearable collection of clothes.

Jason Wu

I am a huge fan of Jason Wu, his AW12 collection was one of my favourites and these designs are equally beautiful. There was a lot of structure to the pieces as well as a mix of leather and lace and the contrast was really interesting. And the show stopping navy dress is literally amazing!!

Marchesa

There was a real middle eastern feel to this collection, with beautiful fabrics and intricate details. The fringing was over the top and fabulous and still maintaining the stunning lines that Marchesa always brings to clothing.

I hope you like my picks, I just got so excited when I saw these designs, and to me that is one of the best things about fashion, everyone has their own take on things and that is what keeps things fresh and new. Who were your top designers and favourite collections?

Now New York is over I am soo excited about London Fashion Week! I have tickets for shows on Saturday and I can not wait. I will be tweeting through out the whole event so be sure to check in to my twitter and facebook for updates.
I am also going to one of my closet friends in the worlds 30th Birthday this weekend and it is going to be amazing. Loads of my friends are coming and it will be such great catch up as we are all dotted round the country now. I have got a new outfit for this so I will be posting pics of that very soon.
Anyway, I will go and get back to unpacking!

Happy Thursday!
